Frangarto

This village is a quiet holiday paradise

This small village close to Bolzano is one of the quiet areas around Appiano.
One of the most popular destinations in this area is of course Firmiano Castle, a huge Castle complex, situated slightly above the village.

The MMM, Messner Mountain Museum, is considered to be the first and biggest mountain museum on the world. Since June 2006 it has been open to the public. Thus Reinhold Messner, the founder of this museum, has expanded his museum concept to open yet another mountain museum after MMM Juval, Dolomites, Ortles and Mountain Population.

Also the famous bicycle path which leads bikers to Caldaro in the south of South Tyrol starts in Frangarto, which is a real paradise for bikers as well as an ideal starting point for walks in the Oltradige region.
