This village is characterised by the popular Lakes of Monticolo

The locality is really an idyllic place surrounded by the nature reserve of Monticolo. The small church of the three Magi represents the centre of Monticolo and is surrounded by farms and fruit trees. No matter whether you prefer hiking, nordic walking, cycling or mountainbiking, every season offers a vast variety of possibilities for every taste in a highly diversified nature.

Monticolo is one of the main recreation areas in South Tyrol, above all thanks to both the small and big Lake of Monticolo. Surrounded by forests you can enjoy your holidays, no matter if you prefer the popular lido or a quiet little place somewhere around the lake.

Those who love swimming and splashing around in the water will enjoy the period from April to October. Moreover in Monticolo there is the longest water slide in South Tyrol. From June to September there is a free bus service connecting all localities of the community with the Lake.

Our recommendation: a walk along the "spring valley" near Monticolo in March. You will be amazed, as there is no other place in which you can find such a variety of spring flowers blossoming in this period.
