Spring valley in Monticolo

A sea of flowers covers the valley, which starts close to Monticolo

This is an easy walk and perfect for children and adults. We recommend you to make this hike in March or in other months of spring, as already in early spring this valley is in full blossom. You will admire the sea of snowdrops which thrive in the valley.

However, this is our recommended hike: the starting point of our walk is the lake of Monticolo. From this place we follow the narrow street towards the hamlet of Monticolo. Starting from the locality of Monticolo we take the right, after the first crossroad (about 20 minutes) we take the left and reach the spring valley. We follow the signpostings through the spring valley, cross different vineyards and finally reach the west end of lake Caldaro.

After having taken a refreshment, we can start our way back. Simply take the same way back. Another possibility is to return by bus to S. Michele, Appiano, where in summer months there is a shuttle service to the lakes of Monticolo. For further information about the exact schedule, please contact the different tourism offices.
