The first flowers between Monticolo and Caldaro

Already in March, in the Oltradige region, there is a fascinating hiking trail which diffuses a spring feeling in every heart. From the Caldaro Lake to the big Lake of Monticolo, there is a varied hiking path across the valley, where you can admire spring in full blossom in a very early period.

The spring valley is located in a humid basin and is therefore in an advantageous position. Warm air from the South flows to the spring valley and different spring flowers like snowdrops, snowflakes or primroses begin to thrive and cover the whole spring valley. By the way, this area is a nature protection area. That is also why picking flowers is not allowed.
