The oldest trees of Appiano

If the trees could talk they would have a long story to tell

There are several parks in Appiano, in which you can often find redwood trees, cedars, linden trees, beech trees, maples and several other trees. Their nature and majestic size conveys a feeling of tranquility as well as dignity.

As you can imagine, the biggest trees grow in the palace grounds, for instance of Ganda Castle or Freudenstein Castle or the Pigenò Residence. Impressive trees also surround the Matschatsch Castle, where you can also find one of the highest trees in South Tyol, which is a 50 metre high redwood tree.

A majestic beech tree (30 m) grows in Matschatsch, numerous hackberries along the street to Missiano, but this was only a selection of majestic trees of the area... when you go hiking you will discover more and more living surviros!
